French designer Ora-Ïto created this Nike trainer as an homage to Charles and Ray Eames. Based on the Eames Lounge 670 armchair designed for Herman Miller, the shoe replicates the original rosewood veneer and leather of the chair. [via Dezeen]
At first glance, it looks more like a bicycling shoe than a trainer. I’m curious as to how using real wood on the shoe would affect walking. Very interesting idea!
