Remember the arcade game Rampage from the late 80’s/early 90’s?
This super cuddly T-shirt design reminds me of that awesome game.. so many memories.
Finally watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Finally watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I’ll be honest; it started out exciting for me, but then it grew progressively boring. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Transformers as a kid, but I didn’t really like the first one that much either. Generic plot and generic characters. But hell, you watch Transformers for the fights and for the awesome transforming robots, of course.
Illustrated by Ben Procter, these pictures give a nice look at the robots so you can actually swallow every little facet on their extremely detailed bodies. Every robot is moving so fast in the movie it’s impossible to get a good look at anything.. I guess it just gives you an excuse to watch it over and over again!?
I know this is really old, but Yamaha’s Tesseract prototype ATV is just too interesting not to feature. Essentially a hybrid four-wheel motorcycle, it is supposed to combine the stability advantages of having four wheels with the carving ability of its two-wheeled cousins. Equipped with Yamaha’s own tilting mechanisms or “dual-scythe suspension” (that sounds hella cool) and also an electric hybrid liquid cooled V-Twin, the Tesseract is set to revolutionize the motorcycle industry.. or will it? I dunno, it’s just cool to see a 4-wheeled motorcycle that doesn’t look lame.
It just looks so damn cool.
Check out out a presentation on it (but beware of the super boring commentator’s voice):
Created by Mathias Buttet himself, founder of Confrérie Horlogère, the Clef du Temps Tourbillon is unique not only in futuristic design, but also in its ability to control time. Okay, you can’t control time for others, but you can adjust the running speed of the hour, minute, and seconds displayed on the watch. The case is crafted out of titanium, while the strap is composed of eight rubber-clad strands. With a limited production run of 24, the prototype has already sold for $410,000 at the recent Only Watch charity auction.
The new Veritas RS III is finally dropping and only 30 units will ever be made. What a beautiful roadster! The handbuilt German speedster will utilize BMW’s V10 outputting 507hp and also found in BMW’s M5 and M6. With a 1+1 seating configuration (the passenger seat is hidden), the car places the driver extremely low to the ground with no roof and no windscreen that might inhibit the raw experience of racing. Slightly more refined than an Ariel Atom, but costing waaaay more at $487,000. With the Ariel Atom 500 coming out soon, which one would you choose?
It’s shark-like front end design has sparked controversy, but I personally find it to be intimidating; a good thing on the track. A beautiful and deadly-looking track weapon.
Imagine attacking mountainside curves in this beast.. pure ecstasy!
For those of you that don’t know, the McLaren F1 is on my top 5 list of most favorite cars of all time. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the successor to the McLaren F1 for years now, and this freelance LM5 design study by Matt Williams seems like a viable option for the growing company, whose release of the MP4-12C (quite a mouthful isn’t it?) was received quite well.
Interestingly enough, the artist prefers the same BMW V10 (albeit with around 700hp instead) from the Veritas to be placed into his car; a homage to the McLaren-BMW relationship in the original F1. Fine by me! Now that McLaren is very much independent, the real thing will definitely use an in-house motor, but I’m sure it will be just as positively titillating as BMW’s powerplant. Mr. Williams continues the tribute with a slim three-seat layout as seen in the original, multifunction steering wheel and a lightweight carbon fiber chassis.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the real thing turns out very similar to this.
